Personal Training in Hemel Hempstead
Train smarter, safer and stronger with an award-winning sports therapist
Looking to get fitter, return from injury or improve your performance – but don’t love the idea of a busy, intimidating gym? At Movement In Motion, our sports therapist-led personal training in Hemel Hempstead is designed to help you train effectively and safely, whatever your starting point.
You’ll work 1:1 with a degree-qualified sports therapist in our private Apsley clinic, combining expert coaching with rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and injury prevention.
Why choose personal training with a sports therapist?
Training with a sports therapist bridges the gap between rehab and performance. Rather than following a generic workout plan, you’ll be coached by someone who understands pain, biomechanics and injury risk – and can adapt your programme around your body, not the other way around.
We help you:
- Train safely and confidently – perfect if you’ve had previous injuries, surgery or long-standing niggles.
- Build real, usable strength – not just more reps, but better quality movement that carries over into sport and daily life.
- Reduce injury risk – by improving strength, control and movement efficiency, we help you stay consistent with your training.
- Progress long term – your programme evolves as you get stronger, rather than leaving you stuck on the same exercises.

People getting back into fitness

Train in a quiet, private clinic space with 1:1 support – no crowds, no waiting for equipment, no feeling self-conscious.
Competitive & recreational athletes
From runners and field athletes to team sport players, our programmes can target speed, power, robustness and performance.
How it works
Our personal training is suitable for almost anyone, including:
Step 1 – Comprehensive assessment
Before you start, we assess how you move – looking at strength, mobility, balance and control. This helps us identify weaker links and areas that need extra attention.
Step 2 – Bespoke training plan
We design a personalised programme based on your assessment findings and goals – whether that’s weight loss, performance, returning to sport or simply feeling stronger and more resilient.
Step 3 – Guided 1:1 sessions
You’ll train 1:1 with a sports therapist who will coach your technique, adjust exercises on the fly and keep you progressing at the right pace.
Step 4 – Review & long-term plan
At the end of your block, we reassess you to measure your improvements and then agree your next steps – whether that’s another block with us, more independent training, or progressing to higher-intensity work.
Personal training packages & pricing
We offer flexible blocks of personal training so you can choose the level of support that suits you best – from single sessions to multi-session packages.
Typical options include:
Individual 60-minute sessions
£75
- Blocks of multiple 60-minute sessions for better value
Gym Ready & Performance Programs - What Do I Get?
- We will assess you before any exercise program is designed - this will help us identify areas of weakness and the planes of movement that need to have strength developed.
- A bespoke training program that is tailored to the findings within your assessment and the goals you have set yourself.
- Recorded sessions will be sent to you to ensure that in between sessions you are performing the exercises correctly.
- Unlimited telephone support and/or messaging service.
- At the end of the program, you will be reassessed to show you the gains you have made. We will also provide you with a pathway to move into higher-intensity exercise with a third party or you can choose to continue the journey with us and allow our qualified professionals to reassess your goals and progress you further.
- Sessions 1 to 3 will look at the understanding of weight transfer through movements and pressures that should be applied through the hands and the feet whilst performing different exercises
- Sessions 4 to 10 will be building strength through targeted exercises and different planes of movement to ensure that you are ready to progress onto higher-intensity training and that your body can deal with the stresses and strains that come from this.
- Sessions will focus on legs, abs, and the upper body with each exercise targeting your weaker areas, identified within your initial assessment session, before progressing on to more dynamic or strength-based exercises as your body adapts to training
